Spring brake continues

I have no pictures for this post, but just some catching up and here is what is going on. you know boring stuff.

So far it has been......OK. The kids do well in the morning and then lose it in the afternoon time. They constantly want to go to the park or play with friends. the boys are dog sitting and that gets us up and going in the morning. I didn't plan to far a head as far as play dates go so Tyler was really disappointed in my abilities to set any up at the last minute. Between ppl out of town, not home or already having a play date he had to go without for the first couple of days.
My sister and her kids came to visit and spent the night Wed so that helped brake up the week.

this morning Aiden said he wanted to go sit on the toilet, he dose this every so often so I asked T to put him on the toilet and then I immediately forgot as I continued to work on the computer. Until Aiden came up to me a few minutes ago and "no poopy" oh yea he was sitting on the toilet. so I go into the bathroom to check and has filled the toilet with the practically new roll of toilet paper! as I grab the garbage can and remind him he is not supposed to use so much he flushes! Luckily there were indeed no poopys in the toilet because as fast as I could I grabbed the pile of TP before it went down the drain and clogged the toilet. Gross i know, but i certainly did not want to deal with a clogged and overflowing toilet either.

So on that note spring brake continues and it is almost over. My car had the malfunction indicator light on for the last 2 weeks and it is now fixed. YEA! and now i have to gather all our tax info to get that over with.

I have four weeks left till Brody arrives and I know it is going to go by fast. I have the wedding cake to do next week and then Tyler's Baptism to plan for the 10th. it all be crazy and baby will be here before I know it.

Cake !

It's been a while since I did a cake so when my sister in law Tiffany asked me to make her daughter Jacey's birthday cake I figured it would be a good trial run since I also agreed to do my cousins wedding cake at the end of March. Jacey wanted a Tinker Bell cake so here is what I came up with. I know...its cheating to put a Tink toy on instead of making her, but I was not feeling quite that ambitious. She loved it so that is all that matters.

Give A Day Get A Day

This year Disney is having a special promotion called "Give A Day Get A Day". They are looking for 1 million people to do service and in return you get a day at the park for free. After last year and all the trips we took Chad had his fill of Disneyland, but when they are offering a free day how can you turn them down. When we went to the web page that list the opportunities available I found one listed with "Project Linus", we each had to make a blanket to donate. This was perfect for us because the age requirement included the boys (you had to be 6 to participate in any project) and we could do it at our leisure as long as it was with in the 6o day time frame. With the pregnancy and Chad's schedule it was great that we were able to do it from home. The boys loved doing this project. They tried cutting the fringes in the fleece, but found that challenging, so I cut all the fringes and they did all the tying. They were very proud to have been able to help the kids in the hospital by giving them comfort in a blanket. I think this was a great idea of Disney. I have heard great stories from others about their experiences in the service they participated in. I got an email from Disney the other day for our vouchers! We plan to go before Aiden turns 3 so that he will still be free :)

Toy Story 3

Aiden's new favorite is Toy Story or more specifically Buzz Light Year. I got an email of the trailer for Toy Story 3. He was so excited. I think he thinks it is the movie. He sat at my computer and watched it over and over again.

Ch Ch Ch Chia

Casey got a Chia Shaggy from a friend and was super anxious to get it growing. He followed all the steps... I think we went wrong on the last one. It says to put in a window, in the sin light, but not extreme heat. Well we live in Arizona! He put it in his bedroom window, which I have decided is not enough direct sun light. It is still winter so I guess the more direct window is not going to be too hot. It has sprouted, but not as well as it should have and some of the seeds look moldy, so I'm going to have to clean it off and start from step one again. luckily it come with enough seed to sprout a few times.

Valentines box

In Tyler's class they had a box decorating contest. Here is Tyler's submission. As we have already established he is a big fan of Lego so he wanted to do something with Lego's. He won a Rubik's cube for getting 3rd place. I of course think he should have had 1st place, but these are 2nd graders voting.

Valentines Day

I debated and agonized over what to get the kids for valentines day this year. Money was a little tight and I was at a loss, till I went to good will with a friend, she wanted to look for something real quick and while she looked I noticed the videos. Since we got rid of cable the kids have been watching movies a lot more, so I figured what a perfect gift! I snagged a few and they were excited to get them on the morning of the 14th....until they went to watch the first one and it was not the movie that the cover said it was! oops! I didn't think to check the movies inside the cases. Luckily it was Cinderella 2 so Court was excited. I went back up to bed while they picked another movie. Chad said "its a good thing it wasn't something worse! Out of bed I jumped to check the other movies. One more was wrong and looked like something some one had recorded at home, so we tossed that one. Next time I get used videos I will remember to check the tape inside the cover.

We had our traditional breakfast of which Aiden only wanted to eat the strawberries. We had not bought enough for him to go hog wild on strawberries so he threw a bit of a fit hoping for more, and was excited when we added one to his plate just so we could see his reaction. I missed it on camera but his face lit up when he turned around to see a berry on his plate.

Casey's performance

In the fourth grade they are introduced to instruments in the form a recorder. I think next year they have the option for band. Casey has really enjoyed learning to play songs and when he is a good mood even takes the time to teach his brother a little. This month his class a recital. They are learning with a program called recorder Karate and when they master a song they get a "belt" passed off (notice the strings at the bottom of his recorder) For their recital they played each of those songs and it really good. They all played so well and Aiden was so excited to clap and cheer for him after each song. He is excited to move on to band next year.

YUMMY!!!

One time we went to I HOP and they had corn cakes. They were so Yummy. I loved them and their unique texture. Then one day we went back and they no longer had them :( I was so disappointed because I was all geared up for them. For Christmas I got cook book from my mother in-law and there was a recipe for corn cakes! oh excitement! I got the ingredients and made them and they were a huge hit. The next time I made them I had to triple the batch.
