A garden...finally

We finally got around to planting our garden. It is a bit later than it was supposed to be planted, oh well hopefully something will come up.
We still had fun planting. Casey enjoyed planting neat little rows of carrots and Court enjoyed making random little holes for seeds. Tyler stuck around the longest as Chad and I figured out the drainage and leveling once we had the water on. It wasn't done as meticulously as it could have been, but like I said it was fun and if anything grows..yea.

Just a couple cute pics of Aiden

Aiden has done this a few times and Chad wanted me to make sure I got a pic of it. Put up your dukes!
The other day while the boys were at school i found Aiden in their room where they had left their art box out.

still cute

Court wanted her hair in pigtails. I just thought they were so cute. I'll have to see what other things I can do with her hair still.

It's leprichan chatching time

The time of year has come that the kindergartners have to make leprechaun traps. The two kiders in my car pool had traps to take to school this morning and it sparked Casey's imagination on the subject of leprechauns. Each year since school has begun St Patrick's day has taken on a whole new level of excitement. I think it is because the teachers are not restrained by religious boundaries. They go all out to convince the kids that their class room was invaded by sneaky and destructive little men. The kids always come home with wild stories of the tricks the leprechauns have played on the class. Last year at bed time I had to convince Tyler that a leprechaun could not get into our house since we have an alarm. On the way to school Casey starts to hatch a plan about a trap. Our friend little Miss B told Little Miss A that she should have put a sign that said "For dolls only" on her trap because leprechauns never follow the rules and in fact do the exact opposite of what they are asked not to do. So Casey is planning on making a box for dogs that says for puppies only so that a leprechaun will feel compelled to enter since he is not a puppy. Miss B responds with, but dogs can't read so that would not make sense. The leprechaun would know you were trying to trick him because leprechauns are smarter than that. These kids are so cute, I love to listen to there conversations :). Happy St. Patrick's day everyone. the hunt is on!

Ginger bread cookies

After Christmas I went sale shopping and got this super cool gingerbread cookie set made by Crayola. I finally got around to making them. The kids had a great time. The set came with cookie mix, candy eyes, edible water paint frosting and brushes. The cookies even tasted pretty good.

What a great big brother

We had spring brake this week. On the first day off I walked outside to Tyler removing Court's training wheels. He looked at me and said,"she wants these off so she can try rinding her bike." After taking them off for her he proceeded to teach her to ride.

Our yard in very big so she would fall when she got to the end, but she could go half way across the yard on her own. One of these days we will have to go to the park to test out these new skills on a bigger field. Thanks big brother!

Nightmare?

Sometimes Tyler wakes up crying and babbling about various stuff. He is usually upset about something and no matter what we say or do we can not calm him down. Sometimes I just go along with what he is saying and that will calm him down enough for him to go back to sleep. On this night he was inconsolable and so I went a got the camera!

I took a little video and is dark and there is not much going on, but he was shocked to see himself doing this and of course had no idea he did it and doesn't really believe me that he does it often. I took Joleen's lead on this one and paid him $1.00 to let me publish this post.

I got more stuff, but it was completely black since by then we were in his room and I was trying to get him to lay down. This went on for about 5 min. He woke up Aiden and Chad and I had to leave him to get Aiden back to sleep. While I was taking care of Aiden Tyler calmed down and went back to sleep.

Mommies wedding dress

Court and I were talking one day about her getting married and how she needed to grow up first. Then we started talking about her dress and I told her she could try on my dress. She reminded me daily about it for a few days.
Look at that sparkle in her eyes. I stood her up on Chad's office chair and got her all dressed up. She loved it :) and it was huge on her. I'll have to take more as she grows.

One HUGE carrot

A lady at my work brought in these carrots that were huge! I grabbed a couple and we enjoyed slicing off pieces and eating them. Here is Aiden nibbling on one.

I went on a cruise with my mom

On Feb 2oth - 23rd I went on a cruise with my mom. It was a business cruise and it was so fun. I will admit right now I did a horrible job taking pictures, so sorry. I flew to Orange County on Fri the 2oth and we boarded the boat that afternoon. We explored the boat and had lunch while we waited to have access to our room. I got a few pictures from around the boat to show the kids. Here is one from the top level looking over the Lido deck and pool.

Her is picture of the mini golf course up top. We did play golf one day and yes I beat mom. I don't know how well since I forgot to write down one of her scores, but even with out it I still beat her :). It was a little difficult since the ball would roll withe ship as it swayed.

The room was fine, The funniest part (dang, I forgot to get pic of it) was the curtain over mom's bed that had a wall behind it. We had inside room without a view, how nice that they tried to create the illusion for us.
I got a pic of one of the towel animals that the stewards leave to welcome us "home" in the evening.

When we got to Ensinada mom and I took a shore excursion to a ranch to enjoy a Mexican Fiesta. It was fun, the bus took us around down town Ensinada first and we were able to scope out our shopping trip for later. We then went to the top of a hill to a ranch where we enjoyed a lunch of Chicken, rice and beans with corn tortilla. While we ate we were entertained by a couple of Mexican dances and a rope twirler. The rope twirler was especially neat to watch since he is so good that he travels all over the nation and is very good at what he does. It was most impressive when we found out he was 76 years old! Of course any Mexican party must end with a pinata. They called up people to participate and lucky mom was selected.

View of the hills at the ranch. Also in the picture a mommy horse with her 3 day old foal. After lunch we headed back into town where mom and I opted to get off the bus to shop. It was great timing since they were having a carnival parade at the same time, so all the vendors and store owners were more interested in watching the parade and we were free to shop with out being hovered over. We each got some great souvenirs to bring home to our families.

The next day was Sunday and our day at sea. Like I said it was a business trip so we had seminars all day. Mom belongs to a group called Leads, it is a networking group and so the seminars were about how to grow you business and ways to maintain it. I learned a lot and wished Chad was with me so that he could have heard all the great information first hand. I hope to go again next year if they do this again.

Monday we got home and I decided had not been long enough, not because I didn't want to go home to my family, I just didn't want to go home to real life. It was so relaxing and nice to not have to worry about everyday stuff. Chad and the kids met me at the airport. I told him to meet me at the curb, but they were waiting just outside of security and I was so excited to see them. Court cried and held on to me because she had missed me.

We grabbed a bite to eat on the way home and when we got home I gave everyone their gift and then got on to my e-mail to e-mail Casey's teacher something. As soon as logging on I saw an e-mail about the HOA meeting I was supposed to be at and was now 1 1/2 hours late! I said good by to my family and ran off to the last 1 1/2 of the meeting, got home after 9:00 and went to bed. The next morning I volunteered at school and had work that afternoon and the next day. I also had to make posters for the upcoming restaurant night fundraiser for the school...... Like I said the cruise was not long enough. Back to real life.

Now I know why my mom did it...

When I was in the first grade my mom butchered my hair. She cut it short! She called it a pixie cut, but being a huge fan of Tinker Bell I think of pixie in a cute way. Cute was not the word I would use to describe my hair, sorry mom :). Well I would always look back at my school picture and hate how I looked with short hair and wonder why she would do that to me. Why would she cut off all my hair? She would tell me it was because she got tired of me screaming every time she brushed it. Now I understand. After 4 1/2 years of Courtney's hair and loving the length I got sick and tired of brushing it and washing it and doing it. I got tired of having her get syrup in it when we had pancakes, she even learned to ask me to tie it back when syrup was on the menu.

so On Thursday Feb 19th we went to Aunt Tiffany's and had her hack it off! Wooo hoo!

Before.
I had to curl it one last time.

After.
We all love it! I think it is so cute and she loves it too. I think she mostly likes all the attention she gets from our friends and family. it is so much easier to take care of!

Mother son sweetheart dance

On Feb 12th I helped Co-organize the mother son sweetheart dance at the boys school. I was supposed to be in charge of the dance, but when I had conflicts with a couple of the PTO board members it became apparent to me that I couldn't plan this dance for them. One of the members is an amazing woman and we decide that we could work together to get this dance planned. I was so happy with end result, the dance was a huge success and while the PTO ladies didn't say one word of thanks or good job, I know that everyone else was so pleased with it. The boys had fun even though after it was all over Casey was disappointed that I didn't get to dance with him enough. Sorry Casey :(. If I help out next year it will be with other things and not the mother son event, so that I can spend that time with my boys. Tyler helped out in the picture room. Last year he didn't like the dance very much either. I'm not sure if it is the dark room, the noise or the crowd. Casey loves the dancing, he gets down hard! To bad I didn't get video of his crazy moves! They are a sight to be seen.
