Fishing

When Chad was off work for Memorial day he took the boys fishing at his brother in laws parent house. They have a stocked catch and release lake. Perfect for the kids to fish since they can easily catch lots. It think they caught 23 on this trip. They haven't gone in a while so they had a blast and wish they could go more.

Brody is growing

He is getting way to big way to fast. When I took him for his 6 almost 7 week check.....yes I know I missed his 1 month so we were a little late and then it was really closer to a two month check so they counted it as such, anyway.... They said he was int he 80th percentile for his height! What! a child over 10 % this cant. i don't think I have ever had a child over the 40's. Really? 80? the whole way home I told the kids that Brody would probably be taller than them all and then had to explain that even though they would be older that didn't mean they would be bigger.

Disneyland 2010

School got out on May 20th and we went to Disneyland on May 21st. We had our free day for ding volunteer work and since Court was to young to do the project we wanted to go before Aiden turned three and we would have to pay for him too. We got up early in the morning...like 3:00am and drove for the 5 hours drive it takes to get there. It was great because the kids slept most of the way there. After parking at our hotel we headed over to the park and decided to knock space mt out of the way first thing. Chad and Casey went on the ride while the rest of us waited. Tyler was all talk about going on it till Chad mentioned that it went faster than the other rides, with that he was out. Next we headed over to Astro Blasters where Court proceeded to cry and fight about going on it. She did not want to go and had to be dragged on and even then she spent the whole ride with her face in Chads side. That is how it was for her with every ride. What the? Its a good thing she didn't do that last year when we came for her birthday trip. As we got off the ride Aiden was strutting around with he arms out. Big man shot the bad guys! he was hilarious to watch. He did well on the rides which was great since we were dealing with Courtney and a one month old baby.

We didn't get to many pictures, but we managed to get this family shot.
We all got volunteer pins and Brody got to sport a first time at Disneyland pin.
We went on lots of rides and ate lots of yummy food. Typical day at Disneyland. I had to go nurse Brody a few times in the nursing room. The last time was late at night, when I came out this how I found my family. don't remember where Aiden is in the picture, i think he was in the stroller. notice T is awake, he must have been watching him since Chad is rally asleep!
I was really worried about how Brody was going to do. When I planned the trip I was not planning such a rough start with child number 5 so as the time drew near for our trip I was a little worried about how nursing and everything was going to go. well it went great he slept the whole time literally THE WHOLE TIME. He would wake up to eat and then he would conk right out again. I think chilling in the sling allowed him to roll in a tight ball and feel super secure.
He woke up at 11:00 when we were headed back to our hotel and the rest of us were beat. Luckily he still went to bed fine and sleep well that night. After dropping Daddy and the three youngest off at the hotel, mommy and the two older kids went back tot he park for the last hour. We wanted to squeeze in a couple of last rides just because we could.
The next morning it was back in the sling as we headed over to Down Town Disney to check out the stores.

We just had to check out the Lego store. The kids had birthday money from their party and they were looking to spend it there. Adien was so excited to see a huge woody made out of Lego's. They loved this store and it took some fast talking to get them to wait and see what the other stores had to offer before they blew all there money. We went and checked out all the other stores, but in the end they came back to Lego and got some cool Lego sets.

Later that night we went and met one of Chads friends from elementary school for dinner. We had lots of fun catching up with her. It was a great trip, but next time we will plan better for our day not at the park. we had originally planned on the beach, but then I realized that was a bad plan with a new baby, so we really had no plan and no plan in a hotel room is not great with 5 kids! The pool at our hotel was indoor and very loud, so there was only so much time one could spend in that room. Chad has sworn ff Disneyland for at least 5 years, but I could never survive that! He seems to think he has filled some quota on Disney attendance in the last two years. I tell him there is no such thing as too much Disneyland. :)
Rides we hit, sometimes we didn't all ride them.
Space Mt, Astro Blasters, Submarine ride, Small world, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Winnie the pooh, Mr Toads, the Carousel, Story book canal boats, Alice in Wonderland, The orbiter, Tarzan's Tree House, Big Thunder Railroad, The Tiki room,

Happy Birthday times 3

When my friend Tami stated that she wanted to plan a circus/carnival party (she loved party planing and it an obsession of hers) I said she could plan one for my kids. I have always thought of doing a combined party for them and since I was pregnant and not doing much of anything I figured it was the perfect time to get all three kids parties done at once and Tammi could get this one out of her system. Here is the amazing party she planed for my three oldest kids......
A snack table with jars filled with circus type foods. Peanuts, animal crackers, sucker, and gum balls.

A ticket booth and one of those things you put your face in to pose for a picture. She found one that was a circus theme!

No circus would be complete without some animals. love the cages she made :)

For games we had Dart throwing, pie in the face, ring toss, donuts on a string, dunk pond, fish in a cup throw and a few others.

the pie in the face was the most popular game. some kids got quite messy with the shaving cream we used to make the pies. Tyler even was sport enough to pose a pic while some of the girls at the party smashed him with shaving cream.
We had some great carnival food. Cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones.

I even got to fulfill one of my life long dreams of spinning cotton candy !

We even had a prize table for the kids to spend their tickets that they won.
Tammi was such a sport and even dressed up as a clown and did face painting. She is pretty devoted to the details!

Thanks to all our friends who were able to make it, but the biggest thanks goes to Tammi for all her planning and hard work. We had a blast! Happy Birthday to Tyler, Court and Casey.

We have CURLS!!!

Genetics are just not fair! I finally get a child with curls and its one of my boys! I didn't get around to cutting Aiden's hair before Brody was born so his hair has been left to grow wild and as it got longer....curls started to emerge. Now I don't want to cut it!

Crazy Hair Day

For crazy hair day we stole this idea from our friends doo last year. It was last minute so it wasn't as great as it could have been, a ribbon would have looked nice. Girls are much more fun on crazy hair day. Tyler is hoping that next year I will plan ahead and get some color spray for his hair. Court proudly sported her doo and loved the extra attention it drew.

Court turns 6

Some great friends of mine gave me a gift certificate to get a pedicure before the baby came. When I got home Court was very interested in my lovely toes so for Courtney's 6th birthday I took her to the salon for a pedicure. While we sat and waited for her turn she begged to get her nails done too. Well it was her birthday so I gave in. She insisted on wearing her birthday crown that she got from school.

I took her to a salon that had kid chairs, but it was still to big for her. She couldn't lean back all the back and so she missed the back massage. All the ladies thought she was 4 years old and when they found out it was her 6th birthday they commented on how small she was.

She got a pretty flower in her big toes and her thumb.

After her nails were done mommy had to go home and take care of baby Brody so Daddy got to take her out for a dinner date. She wanted to go to Chick fillet but Chad talked her into choosing something a little more exciting. He was able to convince her to go to Red Robin.
She had a great time having special time with each of us and having a bit if a grown up day. Happy birthday Court.
