Happy 9th

Since the kids had a big party last year and I really like having one on one time with them the year before that...we decided to take them on a date for their birthday this year. They get to choose where we go for dinner and we will consider any other ideas they have for the evening.

April 4th was Tyler's birthday and he turned 9 this year. I was all ready to get Tyler the Lego's he wanted for his birthday. Then Chad came up with the idea that he might like a new upgraded controller for his RC car. After presenting him with that choice...yup, that was what he wanted. We told him it was on back order and would be here around Courtney's birthday. So he was excited to open it on the morning of his birthday.

Since we had something going on the evening of the 4th we took him out the night before. Tyler first wanted to go to "Country Buffet" because he liked how you could keep going back for more food and you don't even have to finish it if you don't like it. I got to talking to him about how he could choose any place and he could think of anything else, so I said what kind of food do you want and I can suggest some place. He remembered the ribs Chad always bring home as leftovers when we go to Texas Road House and said that was what he wanted.

I forgot my camera so we got a terrible shot on the cell phone, but a great one of the leftovers.

After dinner we went to the mall to look around so he could spend his birthday money from grandmas and grandpas. the vans he bought in Jan were falling apart so we went to look at the vans store and find out if they had sturdier shoes. I told him I was not going to halves on another pair of shoes that was going to fall apart in 2 months. The sales lady assured us that they had some shoes that were designed to stand up to skateboarding and were much durable so so we went halves again on his second pair of vans in 4 months.

after the mall we went for ice cream at 31 flavors and got big waffle cones of chocolate and peanut butter. He decided he didn't like the big chunks of peanut butter. That's the best Part!! Whatever. We haded home, it was lots if fun and we had a great time spending time with our birthday boy. The next night he picked out drum sticks for his birthday "cake" and we got a Red Box movie :The Sorcerers Apprentice" and celebrated as a family.
